2007 MLJJ Performance Schedule

The St. Louis band, Cornet Chop Suey puts on an exciting Trad jazz and swing show every time. The band was formed in 1997 and was named after a popular Louis Armstrong tune, Cornet Chop Suey. They have at least a century of songs in their repertoire, from the rags and Dixie of the early 1900's to contemporary jump, jazz and swing. They have a high-energy front line and a powerful rhythm section.

The band is made up of co-leaders and trumpet players Tom Tucker and Brian Casserly (Brian plays trombone, too); Paul Reid on piano, alto horn and trumpet, Jimmy Haislip on trombone, Al Sherman, bass; John Gillick, drums and Jerry Epperson, clarinet and baritone sax.
